General Description

We want to bring up some fresh ideas that can help the young people and the organization to improve the way that we treat mother earth. The main purpose of the projects is to raise the awareness about sustainability among the young local and international people in their daily life. The volunteers will work with international people and will be participating in different activities: workshops, managing data, beach cleanings, leading camps, educational sessions, and more…

Placement Officer

You will work as a team under the supervision of the Project Manager of the organization. Your main role will be as a Placement Officer building and maintaining relationships through administrative tasks..

Serving as the main point of contact for the organization, your activities include, but are not limited to;
●Communicating with international partner organizations.
●Preparing and distributing documents concerning the placement procedure.
● Preparing and distributing documents concerning the Placement Procedure.
● Allocate applications of foreign incoming participants applying through online Platforms
● Maintain the organization’s database (Projects/Bookings/Project Information Sheets)
● Response to any incoming email requests or inquiries from international partners
Application

Data Management Officer

WF Iceland will organize reasonably priced weekend excursions to some of the most popular, beautiful areas and natural wonders that Iceland has to offer. Excursions include unique Icelandic sights, such as waterfalls, volcanic and geothermal areas, glaciers, lava forests, hot-springs, rhyolite mountain ranges, steam-vents or even icebergs.

The landscapes surrounding are astonishing. Walking around the park is a very special experience. There are boiling hot springs, mud bubbles and hissing steam is forced out of the earth from geothermal vents. The rich and various colours fade into each other which gives the area a magical impression. You can also find fresh lava where you can feel the warmth of the Earth.

Educational Officer

Volunteers will be staying in the house of Worldwide Friends. The house is approximately 600 m² and has 10 rooms for 3 to 4 people each. A fully equipped kitchen, several bathrooms, and common areas. House capacity 30

Volunteers need to bring their own sleeping bags, but beds and sheets are provided. Wireless internet access is provided free of charge. Food is included for the duration of the work camp; however, everyone is expected to do their fair share of the cooking and cleaning. We provide a well-balanced and healthy variety of food products that includes a wide variety of whole grains, seasonal fruits & vegetables, pantry staples, dairy products. We encourage our volunteers to try vegan and vegetarian food during their stay with us.

Since it is always nice to try new and different dishes, volunteers are encouraged to bring along their favorite recipes from home!

Social Media & Journalism Officer

WF will arrange a minibus trip from City Hall to the Location. Having few stops along the way.

Project Coordinator "Camp Leader"

Flights arrive at Keflavik International Airport (KEF), just south of Reykjavik. Meeting point is at City Hall 16:00 pm. Drop off will be at BSI Bus Station at the end of the day of the last day.
