Veraldarvinir / Worldwide Friends (WF) was founded in 2001 as a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainability, nature conservation, peace-building, and intercultural understanding.
For 25 years, we have worked to create meaningful opportunities for people to contribute to environmental protection while building friendships across cultures. We believe that sustainability is not only about protecting nature, but also about fostering cooperation, mutual respect, and global responsibility.
WF Iceland offers a wide range of programs, including short- and long-term volunteering opportunities, summer camps for teenagers, exchange programs, and educational tours. Through hands-on environmental and peace-related projects, participants gain practical experience while contributing directly to the preservation of Icelandic nature.
Over the past 25 years, we have welcomed 22,583 volunteers to Iceland. Together, they have contributed 2,562,300 hours of service supporting conservation efforts and sustainable development across the country.
By connecting people through shared action and purpose, we continue to strengthen intercultural understanding and promote a more sustainable and peaceful future.
